Arvind Kejriwal Changes the side-Communalism more dangerous, harmful than corruption

Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday told a group of weavers in Varanasi that "communalism is more dangerous and harmful than corruption".

Kejriwal, who will take on BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, attended a gathering of around 2,000 weavers at Pilikothi area of the city late this evening.

During the meeting Kejriwal told the weavers that "communalism is even more dangerous and harmful than corruption", and appealed to them to vote for his party to remove both menaces.

One of the weavers, Atiq Ansari, asked the AAP chief to take up the cause of tens and thousands of "hapless" weavers of the city, who are starving and suffering from severe financial crisis.

The weavers also asked him to work for improving the city's basic problems like poor condition of roads, traffic woes and erratic supply of electricity and water.

The AAP chief also met Shahare Mufti-E-Benaras Maulana Abdul Batin Nomani in the evening.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal addressed a rally at Benia Bagh in the central part of the city, where he announced his decision to contest against Modi.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia meets Deoband clerics

(FinancialExpress)

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia met Deoband clerics late on Thursday.
Sources in Deoband claimed that Sisodia explained the policies of his party to the clerics.
The Islamic seminary Darul Uloom, however, refused to assure any support claiming itself as a non political institution.
Sisodia met Maulana Khaliq Sambhali, the deputy rector of Darul Uloom Deoband, after addressing a rally in support of AAP candidate from Saharanpur Yogesh Dahiya.
He also held a meeting with AAP workers in Deoband.
Press secretary of the seminary Ashraf Usmani said: “Sisodia came to meet us and he was welcome. We welcome anyone who comes to the seminary,” Usmani said.
He, however, claimed that Darul Uloom Deoband has nothing to do with politics.
“We never indulge in political activities. We never issue statements in favour or against any political party. We are purely an academic institution. People from all political parties and other organisations visit us and we listen to their views,” Usmani claimed.
Earlier, Samajwadi Party (SP) had asked its leaders in Saharanpur to remain in touch with Deoband clerics. Maviya Ali, former chairman of Deoband and SP leader, has been authorised to interact with Darul Uloom Deoband regularly.
On February 11, Samajwadi Party had tried to rope in clerics from the seminary for its rally on the occasion of renaming of state medical college as Sheikhul Hind Mahmood Hasan Medical College.
AAP has fielded Shia cleric Kalbe Rushaid from Amroha parliamentary seat. Bareilly cleric Tauqeer Raza also shares a good relationship with AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal.

What Modi has that Nehru didn’t

(NiceCentral)

Pankaj Vaidya

Jawaharlal Nehru was born in a very wealthy family and grew up in an atmosphere of privilege. He was educated at home by private governesses and tutors. He went to Cambridge for his higher education. Narendra Modi was born in a poor family and went to an ordinary school like most Indians. He completed his higher education, a master’s degree in political science through correspondence.

Jawahar Lal Nehru grew up in a privileged environment and did not have first-hand experience of the hardships of the common man. Modi knows about the hardships of a common man, having sold tea at railway stations and on trains since he was a child. Jawaharlal Nehru did not have first-hand experience of how to run a business. Rather, he had more experience on making it difficult for others to run a business. He once told JRD Tata, “Never talk to me about the word profit; it is a dirty word.” The Bajaj Chetak scooter had a waiting period of about 10 years because Bajaj could not increase production as the Government simply refused to increase his production quota. The licence Raj ensured that there was no competition.

Lessons for Rahul Gandhi on personality cults in politics

Modi has experience running a tea business and also a canteen for Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation. Hence, he is intuitively able to understand the challenges facing a business. To quote Warren Buffett, “Can you really explain to a fish what it’s like to walk on land? One day on land is worth a thousand years of talking about it, and one day running a business has exactly the same kind of value”. Modi is much more business-friendly and he facilitated shifting the Tata Nano plant from West Bengal to Gujarat in just a few days.

Ruling a banana republic does not require special qualifications

Nehru’s model was that of maximum government and minimum governance. Modi’s model is one of minimum government and maximum governance. Nehru was the Prime Minister of India for about 17 years. His sister Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit was a MLA of the United Provinces (now Uttar Pradesh) and became the first Indian woman to hold a Cabinet portfolio. She was also elected president of the UN General Assembly. She served as India’s ambassador to many countries. She also served as the Governor of Maharashtra. Indira Gandhi became the president of the Congress during Nehru’s tenure as Prime Minister and some years later, she became the Prime Minister. Nehru’s family has ruled India for most of the post-independence period.

Former Student of IIT KHARAGPUR Wrote a Letter To Kejriwal

Dear Mr. Kejariwal,
I am a former student of IIT KHARAGPUR from where you have graduated & was actively involved in Janlokpal andolan 2 years back. I
WAS your supporter/fan till last week before your Gujarat visit.
Since last year I am serving in Govt. of Gujarat. After listening to your speech today in Bangalore, I feel some points I must share for those who haven't visited Gujarat state yet.
1. I haven't paid a single penny for class II job in Govt of Gujarat.
2. I get paid on 1st day of every month.
3. I am posted in rural and tribal area where there are no power cuts. Believe me NEVER.
4. I have travelled almost all the states of the country and have never found roads as good as those in Gujarat anywhere else.
5. You said ‘no development in Gujarat’. Then Mr. Kejariwal, how were you tweeting from the rural areas of Gujarat during your visit ?
I always experienced better wi-fi speeds in rural area (Waghai) of Gujarat than in Pune city. When you had your chance you ran away, now you are criticising others.
Mr. Kejariwal, I, being Aam Aadmi, your former supporter and student of IIT Kharagpur honestly feel that you should ‘first prove yourself & then talk about others’.
Regards,
Prof. Vipul Shinde

J&K separatists, PDP unlikely backers of Modi

M Saleem Pandit

Jammu: This may appear counter-intuitive, but the main opposition party in Jammu & Kashmir, PDP, as well as Hurriyat and separatist leaders believe that the “anti-Muslim” BJP prime ministerial nominee, Narendra Modi, is the best bet for Muslim-dominated
Kashmir as he can address both the internal and external dimensions of the region’s problem.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the chairman of the Hurriyat’s moderate faction, was emphatic, saying the BJP has a clear stand on Kashmir and has the “capacity” and political will to solve the problem. The Mirwaiz said a decade of Congress rule at the Centre reversed the work done by the Atal Bihari Vajpayeeled National Democratic Alliance government to resolve the conflict.
“There was a forward movement on Kashmir during Vajpayee’s tenure as PM. He declared Kashmir a humanitarian issue which should be addressed within the ambit of humanity,” the Mirwaiz said.
People’s Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti has said, “A section of Kashmiris believe Modi can take some tough decisions on the Kashmir issue... (they believe) he may emulate Atal Bihari Vajpayee who took some bold steps to infuse in the people hope of a final settlement of Kashmir issue.” Incidentally, she has ruled out alliance with the BJP in the state or even in New Delhi.
Other separatist groups and several political analysts in J&K are also wishing for an NDA victory to take the process of a Kashmir solution forward. Prominent separatist Nayeem Khan said a BJP-led government would address Kashmir with its external and internal dimensions.

Kumar Vishwas miffed over new AAP entrants,Shazia Ilmi unwilling to contest against Sonia

(IndiaTV)

New Delhi/Amethi: Sparks are flying in Aam Aadmi Party leader with Shazia Ilmi expressing her unwillingness in public to contest against UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi from Rae Bareli.

Shazia Ilmi tweeted: "I am not contesting from Raebarelli, I never agreed to nor do I know. I have been denying this for last two months. "

Shazia, who contested and lost by a slender margin from Delhi's R K Puram seat in the last assembly elections, is more interested in contesting from any seat in Delhi or Farrukhabad, to take on External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid.

AAP leaders are now thinking in terms of using Shazia for countrywide campaigning instead of pitting her in elections.

Meanwhile, from Amethi, Kumar Vishwas, pitted against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, tweeted: ‘’Chadhti nadi me nale girenge to asthavaan snan se bhi darega, achman to bhool hi jao.’’  (If dirty drains fall in a river in spate, even the faithful will be afraid to take a holy dip, forget drinking the water)

This tweet was considered as Kumar Vishwas' ire against new entrant to AAP. But on Tuesday night, Vishwas clarified he made this tweet for BJP, nor for his party.

"It seems the media has no work but to transform my poems and plays. I was saying, BJP is using the name of God and allowing people like Yeddyurappa to contest."

Asked about Shazia Ilmi, Kumar Vishwas said, I do not know from where she is contesting from.

Byte of AAP leader Kumar Vishwas on his tweet says-- humne to ye BJP ke liye kaha tha lekin media me iska galt matlab nikala ja raha hai , on Shazia Ilmi-- wo swantra hai kuch bhi bole. Jagriti / IN

Kumar Vishwas Tweet on new faces being given importance in party—‘’Chadhti nadi me nale girenge to asthavaan snan se bhi darega, achman to bhool hi jao."
Earlier, Shazia tweeted – I am not contesting from Raebarelli, I never agreed to nor do I know. I have been denying this for last two months.
