Paid News Complaint Filed Against Goa Catholic Bishop's Magazine for Its Appeal During Manohar Parrikar By-election

Legal Rights Observatory filed paid news complaint against Goa and Daman Catholic Bishop's mouthpiece magazine under Representatives of People's Act 1951 for its article before last months assembly by-election on Panaji assembly seat where chief minister Manohar Parrikar was candidate.
In the controversial article the article authored by a lawyer had appealed people to vote against Manohar Parrikar and defeat him in election.
LRO shot a complaint to Goa State Election Commission to investigate what Catholic Magazine and its owners received quid pro quo by publishing the article and whether there any financial transactions between rival political parties and Catholic leaders.
Also LRO requested Election Commission to refer Balasaheb Thakarey VS Election Commission case in which Sena chief was stripped off of his voting rights for using religious appeal in elections. Here is the copy of LRO complaint.
