LRO Files Complaint Against Newspapers for Publishing Unverified Maoist Press Release against Troops

To,
The Secretory,
Press Council of India,

Few days ago armed Maoists attacked CRPF patrol party in Sukma in Chhattisgadh killing 25 troops. Later they mutilated bodies of martyred soldiers. There is extreme outrage in the people of India about the attack and lives lost in it.
While reading the newspaper, we have came across the new report in various newspapers like, Hindustan Times, Economic Times, Outlook and DNA which has published Maoists Propaganda Press Release in the name of Vikalp, Spokesperson of CPI (Maoist) Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee- CPIM-DSZC, as per all these news outlets, it is "Unverified Audio Clip", the excerpts of that audio clip reads that, "Sukma ambush was in response to gang-rapes, murders by security forces"
After reading the excerpts of propaganda audio clip, Legal Rights Observatory- LRO came to the conclusion that,
1) Someone ( Read- Maoist and Naxalites) is playing foul game with Freedom of Press, which is amply available in India. And the news outlets knowing or unknowingly playing the role of Maoists Propaganda Machinery by broadcasting the message which is potentially harmful, solely targeted at harming morale of the security forces engaged in the Counter Insurgency Ops in Maoists infested area,
2) Every newspaper, which published the excerpts of CPIM-DSZC audio release mentioned that it is "Unverified" source, that means authenticity of the audio clip is questioned. In that case, when these newspapers were unaware of the authenticity of the audio release, for which good reason they published gist of that clip?
3) Was there any unseen motivation, allurement, ideological binding in publishing such "Unverified" audio press release?
4) Was that audio clip recorded in the news room instead of at CPIM-DSZC hideout to justify Maoist attack on troops and to question professionalism of the troops involved in the CI Ops?
As the questions and conclusions that propped up after reading transcripts of audio press release of CPIM-DSZC, Legal Rights Observatory- LRO, appeals Press Council of India to avoid repeat of such incidences, which are promoting Maoists cause under the guise of Freedom of Press and demands PCI, that,
1) PCI must seek clarification from all news outlets; print and digital about publishing excerpts of "Unverified Audio Clip",
2) PCi must formulate guidelines to avoid the incidences of our own media knowing or unknowingly playing role of Propaganda Machinery of Maoists harming National Security,
3) PCI shall issue advisory to all newspapers to take utmost precaution henceforth while publishing Press Releases issued by terror groups and underground outfits.
4) PCI must issue notices to all newspapers which has published excerpts of "Unverified Audio Clip" in the name of Freedom of Press.
5) Counter Terrorism force Assam Rifles which is dealing with insurgency in NE India had issued orders to 5 newspapers of Nagaland on October 25, 2015 prohibiting them from publishing Press Releases of insurgents in the state and playing as the part of PR machinery of the Ultras. So, if circumstances demands so, then there must be restrictions on Freedom of Press in broader national interests.

If, PCI fails to take corrective measures against these newspapers, then LRO will approach appropriate government department or Court of Law against these media outlets to stop malicious propaganda unleashed against troops involved in CI Ops.

Huffington Post agreed to Publish LRO Opinion in Rajdeep Sardesai- Nandini Sundar Matter

To,
Huffington Post India,
Thanks for prompt reply.
Legal Rights Observatory wants to clarify its position on HP report here.

First thing- As everyone knows, India's vast swathe of region is suffering from brutal Maoist and Naxalite violence. These armed rebels have unleashed terror in almost 11 Indian states. India's brave paramilitary forces and state Police are tackling them while beating all odds.
But biggest hurdle in their fight against Naxal and Maoists is not armed fighters living in hilly treks and jungles, but their Urban sympathizers, which are providing these bloodthirsty rebels with logistics, legal, propaganda, shelter, funds and by many other means.
Also Urban Naxal supporters are torturing Indian soldiers by slapping false and fabricated HR and Rape cases, to hit their morale.
The said activist called Nandini Sundar is openly Naxal supporter facing FIR and legal proceeding for murdering villager who was opposing Naxals on ground.
Also Nandini Sundar was involved in slapping false rape case against Indian soldier just few weeks ago, that case proved faux and Nandini forced to delete the tweet. I am attaching her tweets and few cuttings showing her fabrications.
Second Most important aspect which I want to clarify is, LRO never denied Freedom of Expression to anyone neither it would do so in future, But at the same time LRO will ruthlessly deal with those, giving well planed exposure to harbingers of violence and death, LRO won't allow anyone to run well oiled propaganda machinery on behalf of Naxals and LRO will fight all those tooth and nail, which are indulged in demoralizing our Armed Forces fighting relentless battle against merchants of death.
LRO is fully committed to all widows & orphaned kids of brave troops, who made supreme sacrifice for India.
With this letter LRO appeals and warns all sections of media to refrain from running vicious and violent propaganda against Indian Security Forces under the shoddy cover of journalistic immunity, freedom of speech and balanced journalism.
In future also LRO will monitor Indian media round the clock and will take effective legal corrective measures if Naxals, Maoists & Terror sympathizers are provided with undue and immoral importance and coverage.
I once again thanking HP for reciprocating LRO email and hope the our opinion also gets place on HP online/offline platforms.

Complaint Filed against Rajdeep Sardesai for Inviting Urban Naxal Nandini Sundar in TV Debate

Dear Mr Puneet Jain,
Group Chief Corporate Affairs Officer
Group Chief Law & Compliance Officer
TV Today Network Ltd.
India Today Mediaplex,

Yesterday, after gruesome attack on CRPF troops at Sukma in Chhattisgadh which killed about 25 troops, your channel invited one so called Naxal Expert Nandini Sundar to debate on the attack. (Video Link of the debate:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fsUUQxB4kc&t=647s ) I am attaching here few tweets of Nandini Sundar, which clearly proves that She is not Naxal Expert but over ground Naxal worker, which pursues relentless agenda of defaming our troops and glorifying blood thirsty Naxals and Maoist.
By inviting such a notorious figure in live TV debate on your channel, your channel have openly pursued Pro-Naxal ideology and that is on the very day of epic bloodbath of our troops.
With this email, I am demanding stringent action against your Editor Rajdeep Sardesai and other members of the Editorial board for this shameless act.
I hope, you will carefully go through all 5 attachments to this email and then draw your own conclusion about the personality of the Nandini Sundar and her open role in promoting Naxal violence by cornering Indian Security Forces.
Promoting such heinous and violent ideology is punishable crime and in case, your channel fails to take action against guilty people, I will file Police complaint against your channel under stringent UAPA Act.

LRO Seeks Clarification from PETA India About UP Illegal Slaughter Houses Ban

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Legal Rights Observatory
Date: 2 April 2017 at 07:27
Subject: About Uttar Pradesh Illegal Slaughter Houses Ban
To: info@petaindia.org, media@petaindia.org, info@peta.org

Vinay Joshi LRO convener- Legal Rights Observatory, Amit Shah, Narendra Modi, vinay joshi rajdeep sardesai, sagarika ghose, sagarika ghosh

To,
PETA India,

Hi,
As you know, newly formed Uttar Pradesh state Government has ordered crack down on illegal slaughter houses in the state. After the execution of state government's order in this direction, the whole swath of Indian media jumped in to thrash, criticize and demonize state government of Uttar Pradesh.
But, what stunned LRO is  stoic silence assumed by PETA India on the issue. The people of India eagerly waiting for the statement from PETA India either supporting Uttar Pradesh Government or condemning those opposing ban on illegal slaughter houses, but nothing of that sort came in.
As PETA is always on front while demanding ban on Indian Bull Fight Jallikattu and many other issues pertaining to animal rights and ethical behavior with animals and birds, Indians were of the opinion that YOU will aggressively support ban promulgated by UP government.
So, with this email, LRO demands,
1) Immediate statement from PETA India either supporting or condemning ban on illegal slaughter houses by Uttar Pradesh government,
2) Immediate  statement from PETA India, either condemning or supporting those opposing ban promulgated by Uttar Pradesh government.
3) Statement from PETA India on Halaal Meat traditions dominant in few religions in the world, in which animals are slaughtered by cut to the jugular vein, carotid artery and windpipe, which prohibits killing animal and bird in single stroke.
The unambiguous statement from PETA India is must to prove that PETA stands for and committed to stop cruelty in all forms, against all animals and birds, irrespective of traditions, religions and regions.
If PETA India fails to clarify its position on aforesaid points, then it would be presumed as PETA is politically motivated, religiously biased and ideologically selectively ethical. In such scenario, it's credibility will receive serious setback and irreversible damage.
