Cases registered against Moulavi and 50 others
Khed(Dist.Ratnagiri)-August 29:About 60 followers of Barelvi Muslim sect attacked the Religious Library run by 
Markaz-ul-Daut-ul-Islamia-val-Khairiya.This institution is controlled by the Ahal-e-Hadees-a Muslim sect. Interestingly members and followers of this sect have been arrested by Mumbai Police in connection with the Ghatkopar blasts and Gujarat blasts last year.
The rioting started when Khalil Nadkar,Ramzan Jasnaik,Sikandar Musa,Gous Khateeb,Mehboob Mahadik,Rifai Sir,Sameer Kouchali and Waris Tambe alongwith four unidentified Moulavees and 60 plus people stormed the Library of Markaz-ul-Daut-ul-Islamia-val-Khairiya objecting leaflet issued by Yaakub Umar Chougule,49(native of Savanas Mohalla-Khed).They alleged Yaakub Chougule of breaking the Ramazaan fast 7 to 8 minutes earlier than prescribed by Barelvis. The mob mercilessly beaten up Mr Yaakub Chougule and vandalized the Library.
Khed Police station has booked the attackers according to complaint filed by Yaakub Chougule in Criminal Register number 128 under the IPC sections of 451,143,147,323,504,506,427.
Police Inspector Mr Aravind Kambale under the guidance of S.D.P.O. Mrs.Namrata Chavhan is further investigating the matter.
